Different hues of Aakriti

    Online exhibition : Piyali Sadhukhan

Piyali was born in February 1979 in Kolkata. She is a first class MFA from Kala Bhavana, Visva Bharati in 2006. She did a Junior Fellowship with the Ministry of Culture, Govt of India in 2006. She has participated in GenNext VI, organized by Aakriti, as well as in various other group shows all over India, including the Lalit Kala Academy in New Delhi. She has participated in Birla Academy Annuals in 2008, 2006 and 2005, along with the 35th Anniversary Celebration Show organized by Gorky Sadan, Kolkata in 2009.

Jayanta was born in Kolkata in 1978. He did his BFA and MFA from Rabindra Bharati University, in 2003 and 2008. He was awarded at the annual exhibitions of 2008, 2003 and 2001. He had participated in various group exhibitions around the country, as well as in Gent Next and Gen Next II held at Aakriti Gallery. According to him, his “works are a composite of influences of a long chain of history and experiences that I have gone through my social and communal/ collective experiences of a society that I live in, and my institutional training.”

    Art Shop

The Art Shop at Aakriti Art Gallery's is an unique place. The shop bridges the gap between the art world and the potential connoisseur. Thus for the new collector, it offers paintings and sculptures within a reasonable price range. At the same time, innovative art pieces like display pads, bags, coffee mugs each printed with an original painting by some of India's frontline artists, including Bikash Bhattacharya, Jogen Chowdhury, Satish Gujral and others are available. Beside these, it also offers monographs on individual artists, At the same time, the art shop also offers the latest issues of magazines like ART news & views, Art etc, Gallerie, Art Journal, Depart, Art & Deal. The book titled Transcending the Popular on P.R. Narvekar was added to the various other publications.
